Professional Experience

Melissa joined the firm in 2013 with experience in the areas of family law, civil litigation, and immigration law.  Prior to joining the firm, Melissa was a law clerk to Judge Jack W. Berryhill in the Jefferson County District Court.  She served on a mixed domestic, civil, and criminal docket and worked intimately on a number of divorce, custody, and civil litigation cases.

During law school, Melissa participated in the Family Law Clinic, where she represented clients in a number of domestic relations cases.  She also worked at Lutheran Family Services of Colorado, a refugee resettlement agency, in the Legal Department.  It was at Lutheran that she practiced immigration law and represented refugees and asylees in their change of immigration status and family reunification cases.

Other Activities

In her spare time Melissa enjoys being outside, whether it be skiing, snowshoeing, or mountaineering. She is also an avid fan of Louisiana State University football and a member of the LSU Alumni Association, Colorado Rocky Mountain Region.
